Robert Half Purchasing Agent in Johnson Twp, Ohio

Description

We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Purchasing Agent in the manufacturing industry, located in St. Paris, Ohio. This role involves supporting all internal departments and external customers, ensuring accurate inventory levels, and providing exceptional customer service and support.

Responsibilities:

• Perform data entry into account systems and liaise with vendors and suppliers

• Verify purchase orders and invoices through 3-way match processes to prevent fraud

• Ensure all departments are supplied with necessary inventory and manage stock in the mailroom

• Process packing slips accurately and ensure all order shipments include necessary information

• Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders

• Assist the purchasing department with additional tasks as required

• Use skills related to 'Bills of Lading' to manage and track shipments

• Uphold the company's commitment to excellent customer service and support

Requirements

• Must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in a purchasing role within the manufacturing industry

• Proficiency in handling Bills of Lading is required

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with suppliers

• Must have excellent organizational and multitasking abilities

• Proficiency in using purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite

• Must be detail-oriented and have the ability to analyze complex data

• Strong decision-making skills and the ability to work independently

• Must be able to maintain professionalism and adhere to ethical codes

• Knowledge of supply chain procedures and experience in vendor management

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field is required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes

• Must be able to manage and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
