ASM Global Groundskeeper in Tucson, Arizona

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assure proper routine maintenance and cleanliness for all outdoor spaces, including landscape & Hardscape, garages, Loading docks for pleasant appearance around the property.

  • Empty trash bins around the facility and compact.

  • Operating and maintaining garden equipment as needed

  • Operate equipment such as light trucks, Golf Carts, pallet jacks, forklifts, power washers, Blowers & hand tools.

  • Prepare and monitor outdoor function spaces for client’s needs.

  • Conduct minor repairs and maintenance procedures on equipment utilized in groundskeeping.

  • Perform removal of Graffiti, paint, and gum on property.

  • Ensure grounds are free of weeds and dead plants.

  • Skimming water fountains for debris.

  • Water potted plants 2-3 times a week or as recommended.

  • Set Irrigation scheduler timer based off event schedules.

  • Coordinate and supervise maintenance projects with subcontractors when necessary.

  • Establish and maintain a good working relationship with subcontractors and vendors.

  • Adjust parking lot spikes as needed for events.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Possess sufficient hearing to clearly hear voices, alarms, bells, and horns.

  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time on hard-surface floor.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and understand verbal and written instructions.

  • Ability to recognize and use simple hand-held, manual and power tools needed for performance of general maintenance duties.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or GED

  • 1-2 years janitorial/custodial experience required.

  • Good leadership and communication skills necessary.

Skills and Abilities:

  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in a landscaping or groundskeeping role

  • Must be able to safely operate maintenance equipment including lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and hedge trimmers.

  • Strong knowledge of pest management and basic lawn maintenance

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Working knowledge of horticulture and historical site rules

  • Ability to lift 20-30 pounds.

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

  • Able to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work in a variety of outside conditions for long periods of time.

Computer Skills

Extensive knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

No certifications are required.

  • Daily lifting and carrying up to 30 lbs.

  • Constant reaching, standing, walking, stooping, climbing stairs.

  • In and out of doors several times a day
