About Global Public Policy : The Global Public Policy (GPP) team at Walmart, based in Bentonville, AR, and Washington, DC, is responsible for identifying risks and opportunities in the public policy space with the goals of maintaining and expanding the company's license to operate; creating opportunity for our 2.2 million associates; serving millions of customers across the globe; building shared value in the communities we serve; and protecting and enhancing Walmart's reputation.

Position Description : Walmart is seeking paid, fix term, temporary associates (interns) to provide research, logistical, and strategic support for Walmart✻PolicyLab and the Global Policy Team. The Walmart✻PolicyLab is an incubator of ideas at the intersection of the public, private and non-profit sectors aimed at operationalizing Stakeholder Capitalism. We are looking for two summer temporary associate, from June to August, for a total of 10 weeks, 40 hours/week.

Duties may include :

• Engaging in public policy research with internal and external partners

• Securing advocacy opportunities and logistics for engagements

• Submitting diverse written reporting to Walmart executives

• Carrying out stakeholder mappings in key issue areas

• Contributing to complex and time-sensitive deliverables and programs

• Managing stakeholder engagement and outreach

Minimum Qualifications:

• BA in social science, government, international relations, or business

• Excellent research skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Excellent Communicating skills

Preferred Qualifications.

• MA in public policy or international affairs candidate preferred

• Relevant globally oriented work experience in business or international relations for private sector, government, NGOs, trade associations, or similar

• Experience cultivating and managing stakeholder relationships with trust and integrity

Live Better U is a Walmart-paid education benefit program for full-time and part-time associates in Walmart and Sam's Club facilities. Programs range from high school completion to bachelor's degrees, including English Language Learning and short-form certificates. Tuition, books, and fees are completely paid for by Walmart.
